So you want to replace the direct mailing functionality by a detour via the newsgroup. Isn't that dangerous given that the news gateway seems to have problems we can't tackle? And, this might dissatisfy people because mails won't arrive as timely as they do right now. If all that could be dealt with properly the idea doesn't sound too bad to me. It would at least eliminate the need for the gateway to check for message ids (or insert something into message headers) to prevent endless looping. The question remains whether the software at hand can be retrofitted to this behavior with reasonable effort. Kind regards robert
