From: Conrad Schneiker Date: 2001-01-31T15:51:15+09:00 Subject: [ruby-talk:10159] O'Reilly Open Source Software Convention FYI. There is going to be an O'Reilly Open Source Software Convention on July 23-27, 2001, in San Diego, California: http://conferences.oreilly.com/oscon2001/ Unfortunately, in the Call for Participation, there is no program track suitable for Ruby, although maybe someone could slip something in under Linux or Apache. The deadline for proposal submissions is Feb. 1. http://conferences.oreilly.com/oscon2001/call.html It includes these interesting remarks: "... This event is the central gathering place for the Open Source community to exchange ideas, techniques, and to advance the language. ..." "... Proposals will be considered in three classes: tutorial programs and convention presentations. ..." Reminds me of the old math joke: "There are 3 types of people--those who can count, and those who can't." Anyway, this is something to keep in mind for next year.
