[ruby-list:29053] telnet 接続タイムアウト

井上といいます。
telnetでコマンドを実行するスクリプトを書いているのですが、BSD/OS4.1
（BSDI）のサーバに接続するときにタイムアウトエラーが出てしまいます。
（Solaris2.6やlinuxだとうまくいきます）どなたか回避方法を御教授いただ
けないでしょうか。

どうもサーバ側にターミナルタイプが渡せないみたいなのですが、どうすれば
いいのでしょうか？実行時に

$　env | grep TERM
TERM=vt100

とはなっています。
