strtod() を持ち込んだ えぐち＠エスアンドイー です。

automake.info によると
  `AM_FUNC_STRTOD'
       If the `strtod' function is not available, or does not work
       correctly (like the one on SunOS 5.4), add `strtod.o' to output
       variable `LIBOBJS'.
だそうです。

sunos-4.1.4 もこれに該当すると言う事のようです。
sunos-5.4 がヤバゲだと言う事ですから、このパッチで
方向はあっていると思います。
が、missing/strtod.c を用意すると、より幸せ度があがります。

configure.in でのテストは、まさに ごとけん さんのコードを

AC_TRY_RUN() するだけで良いと思います。
