だとすると、FreeBSDのportsのパッチはやっちゃいけない、ということになり
ますね、そういう仕様が良いか悪いかは別として。

個人的には、すごく不自然だと思います。単にエラーになって(例外を起こし
て)くれた方が素直な気がします。
