その旨, つたない英語で伝えてみたのですが, 

  I don't know of other code being miscompiled in a similar way on m68k.
  While a compiler error seems possible, the circumstances that trigger it
  seem to be specific to ruby. If you can come up with a small test program
  that shows the same error please submit that to the gcc team with the
  reassign. 

という返事が返ってきました. 
そういうテストプログラムって作れるものですかね? 
(reassignうんぬんはDebianのBTSからみの話です)
