From: MenTaLguY Date: 2006-11-06T22:57:30+09:00 Subject: fast mutexes for 1.8? --=-WFCNEKdkXvMDwgc8++r2 Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Many people have been using Thread.critical for locking because Ruby 1.8's Mutex is relatively slow. Since 1.9 will not have Thread.critical, I think it would be good to optimize Mutex in 1.8 so people can become accustomed to using it today. Is someone already working on a faster Mutex for 1.8? If not, I'd be interested in doing so. -mental --=-WFCNEKdkXvMDwgc8++r2 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBFTz9HSuZBmZzm14ERAoYSAJ9QZ9CGP3sT3tfbEs8Y+LgbLkjugwCffn3k L3rdWxp3MZbr1JZRc52gKS8= =cjw3 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-WFCNEKdkXvMDwgc8++r2--
