The I don't want to come across as a "splay" advocate... I don't have much of an opinion... but, I don't (personally) see a problem with using adverbs as shorthand (as in, to_splayed()). incidentally, the definitions of "splat" that I can find aren't particularly descriptive of the proposed purpose. Webster's has a single definition for it: 1. A single, flat, thin, often ornamental, member of a back of a chair. The other definitions in other dictionaries describe it as a sound (what sound does Ruby make?). The only definitions of "splat" that are germane are verbs. > the object as an array, but we can't use to_a or to_ary. It's hard > to come up with a fully good alternative. But lots of fun! --- SER
