Hello, all. I've been working on the ruby-core page for the new Ruby site.

Accessing the call stack in an OO way

    Hi Matz, all,

Why does Kernel#caller not return an Array of CallStackFrame objects? It
currently returns a string which has to be parsed which is not very OO. If it
returned CallStackFrame objects, that class could simply have a to_s method.
One could then say things like `caller[0].line_number'.

Also, what's the purpose of the start argument when `caller(start)' appears to
be equivalent to `caller(0)[start..-1]'? Speed?

I ask because I'm converting some Perl code that uses caller, which can return
an array with these items.
