Subject: bug in Range

I tried my program with 1.9 but there was another bug with char handling. Bug is in this
irb(main):002:0> (?a..?z)===?c
=> false
i looked to source and discovered that range matches only when its begin or end are numerics 
possible solution would be remove numeric restriction
catch exceptions occured  by comparsion to simulate old behaviour that returns false when not range not numeric
