From: Joel VanderWerf Date: 2006-02-08T16:53:50+09:00 Subject: DRbObject.new(nil, nil) If the uri argument to DRbObject.new is nil, then the error raised is TypeError: can't convert nil into String This is hard to handle. Wouldn't it be better to try to convert to a string with #to_s, as below? Then the error raised will be DRbBadURI, which is easier to rescue. --- /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/drb/drb.rb.bck 2006-02-07 23:49:00.000000000 -0800 +++ /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/drb/drb.rb 2006-02-07 23:49:00.000000000 -0800 @@ -737,7 +737,7 @@ auto_load(uri, config) return open(uri, config, false) end - raise DRbBadURI, 'can\'t parse uri:' + uri + raise DRbBadURI, 'can\'t parse uri:' + uri.to_s end module_function :open -- vjoel : Joel VanderWerf : path berkeley edu : 510 665 3407
