I'm spawning a new thread for the benefit of those with killfiles.

I'm in the same boat. Please, stop this now. If we don't stop this
quickly, it will only get much much worse. Illias doesn't contribute,
he is the destroyer of the signal:noise, which was previously very
very good on ruby-core... He demands that things be done his way for
the benefit of his understanding only. He has done this to ruby-talk,
and many many groups before ruby. Despite protestations he is NOT
here to help us, only himself.

He will demand that we explain and/or simplify every single line of
the makefile (as you've seen on his line-by-line "analysis" of
building miniruby. Any single line he doesn't understand, he'll ask
US to explain instead of doing any research on his own. If we don't
answer to his liking, he'll declare that we aren't helping and demand
explanation further.

When he is done with the makefile, he will move to EVERY function of
EVERY C file in core ruby. He will insist that every single thing he
doesn't understand get explained for him (without doing any research
on his own), and then he'll demand that it get simplified. When I say
"EVERY function of EVERY C file in core ruby", I'm being as literal
and precise as I can be in my prediction.

This list is NOT for that type of discussion, please, let's not make
it that now. Please, stop this now. I really don't want to leave this
list, in fact, I _need_ to be on this list.

----- Following is something Eric wrote up after doing research on
Ilias:

check out this:

http://www.tfeb.org/lisp/mad-people.html

Especially:

Ilias is currently (17-Sep-2002) being almost entirely ignored and
is crying alone to himself, while trying to join in various threads.
With luck if this continues he will get bored and wander off to
annoy people in some other newsgroup. He is one of the most
malignant posters to cll in recent history - between 27-Aug-2002
and 24-Sep-2002 threads begin by him were about 1/4 of the articles
in cll.

-----

Go read those threads. Seriously. They are an exact reflection of
what is being done to ruby.
