From: "U.Nakamura" Date: 2012-10-12T12:19:15+09:00 Subject: [ruby-core:47927] new ruby 1.9.3 maintainer Hello everyone of the Ruby development community Based on "Ruby stable version maintenance commission project" of the Ruby Association (*1), TOUA CORPORATION (*2) takes over maintenance of Ruby 1.9.3. (*3) About actual maintenance work, I, NAKAMURA Usaku, who is a committer of ruby, take charge. The release of Ruby 2.0 is scheduled for February, next year. Until then, and for a while after that, Ruby 1.9.3 will be used widely. We will make efforts to advance the stabilization of Ruby 1.9.3 through this project for all Ruby users. The term of this project is from October 1, 2012 till March 31, 2013. In this project, the policy of the maintenance is not different from the past. The found bugs will be fixed at any time, and some patchlevel releases will be made whenever necessary. After ruby_1_9_3 was branched from trunk, about one year and three months have passed, and about 4,000 changes have been committed to trunk. We will check all of these changes and ones which will be made from now, and will backport them if they will affect ruby_1_9_3. We hope to receive bug reports from the community as before. About this project, we obtained many help from the Ruby Association. Moreover, Naruse-san, who maintained Ruby 1.9.3, helped us to take over the maintenance and gave us many advices. Thank you, to both of them. Sorry for my poor English. May Ruby be with all of us! *1: http://www.ruby.or.jp/ *2: https://www.toua-jp.com/ *3: http://www.ruby.or.jp/ja/news/20121011.html -- U.Nakamura
