Oops, I meant __sender__ and didn't actually provide a reference for
the gem.  I'm not interested in the calling method, but rather the
calling object.

Regrettably, that gem seems to have fallen victim to the hiding of the
ruby_current_thread symbol some time ago[2]. Anyway, I'd much rather
see this natively in Ruby.
