No stdout-flush before gets

Hi,

I try to prompt for an input:

  user@host:~$ ruby -e "print '? ' ; gets"
  foo
  ? user@host:~$
  user@host:~$ ruby -e "print '? ' ; $>.flush ; gets"
  ? foo
  user@host:~$

In the 1.8.2 it worked properly.

Or should this be the desired behaviour?

Bertram
