Subject: [ruby-core:39246] Meaningful commit titles?

Hello,

Out of curiosity I tried to browse the ruby 1.9.3 log
https://github.com/ruby/ruby/commits/ruby_1_9_3 and what I saw was
bunch of commits like

* backport r33087 from trunk.

I see that SVN web
http://svn.ruby-lang.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/branches/ruby_1_9_3/ has
no log and svn has no shortlog so this is of no concern for people
using tools lacking this feature but would you consider making the
first line of the commit messages meaningful for the benefit of the
other interfaces?
