Yes, I am "he". Sorry, for the fan of Git, it is true that I dislike Git. However, I'm not threatening you to avoid Ruby moving to Git. Even if Ruby doesn't to move to Git, I will resign sooner or later. So all of you shouldn't take care of me about this topic. As already declared last summer[*1], I will abandon the obligation of maintenance about mswin32 when 1.9.2 will be released. I will continue about mswin64 for a while, but will abandon it in some timing, too. (I've not decided the timing yet. Maybe when moving to Git or 1.9.4 release.) [*1] http://redmine.ruby-lang.org/wiki/ruby/DevelopersMeeting20100827 Off topic; There are a lot of reasons. Moving to Git is only a trigger. I have spent really a lot of time on the development of Ruby. It was a very happy experience, but I want to move to a standpoint that should not feel responsibility. I had maintained the Windows version of Ruby about ten years. Ten years are very long periods. Being kept such authority long periods by one person leads the project to stagnation. So I should succeed it to promising successors, just like I succeeded it from great predecessors. Recently, Ruby got some new committers who support the Windows version -- tarui, arton, and luislavana. They are able, and they have zeal. They, and other new contributors who are not known by us now, will succeed my work. Regards, -- U.Nakamura
