Sorry, I confused myself on this one; zlib doesn't support .zip out of
the box, so supporting .zip as the archive format would need to also
bring along zip functionality. I don't think that in any way tilts the
scales away from .zip, however, for the remaining reasons I provided.

I really, really think it would be best as .zip, even knowing it might
mean we'd have to add an impl of some zip API to JRuby.
