From: Matt Aimonetti Date: 2010-06-23T08:56:20+09:00 Subject: [ruby-core:30869] [Bug #3466] leak when using Rails and Ruby 1.9.2 Bug #3466: leak when using Rails and Ruby 1.9.2 http://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/show/3466 Author: Matt Aimonetti Status: Open, Priority: Normal Assigned to: Aaron Patterson ruby -v: ruby 1.9.2dev (2010-05-31 revision 28117) [x86_64-darwin10.3.0] I'm sorry this bug was not reduced to something easier to test but here is how to reproduce the leak: 1. Using Ruby 1.9.2 (testied with preview 3) install rails 2.x and generate a new application. 2. create a default route returning a simple string such as: render :text => 'Hello World' 3. start the server using thin or another webserver (don't use development mode or if you do, make sure to turn on class caching) 4. use jmeter, AB or another tool to send 100k requests (I setup 25 threads in jmeter so the test run fast) You will notice that the memory almost doubles by the end of the test. Attached is a test application that I used to reproduce the bug, unzip the app, start the webserver and run your test against the following url: http://localhost:3000/policies/view.xml?platform=PS3&policy_type=EULA I talked to Aaron Patterson who was able to reproduce the leak, but interestingly enough on 1.8.7 using unicorn. (I was not able to confirm that on my machine). ---------------------------------------- http://redmine.ruby-lang.org
