We're actually close already. Look at Method#source_location to find the file and line where a method was defined, and Ripper <http://yardoc.org/docs/ruby-stdlib/Ripper> to parse chunks of Ruby. Given that RDoc, too, is written in Ruby, I think you have most of the pieces you need. Finally, look at <http://github.com/lsegal/yard> for a modern approach to extracting documentation from Ruby. :-)
