[#32686] [Ruby 1.9-Feature#3436] Spawn the timer thread lazily — Mark Somerville <redmine@...> 2010/10/04

Issue #3436 has been updated by Mark Somerville.

[ruby-core:30563] tool/rbinstall.rb

From: Ryan Davis <ryand-ruby@...>

List: ruby-core #30563
I just committed a patch to fix installs from "dot" directories. rbinstall was skipping any bin/* path that contained "/.". Both rvm and multiruby use this strategy a lot. I assume based on how the regexp was written that it was trying to avoid emacs save files which have the pattern "/.#blah" so I switched from a character class to backslashed individual chars.

I also broke it up and used File.extname and File.basename as appropriate.

I found this in 1.9.2preview3 and fixed it on trunk. It should be merged into any appropriate branches.

Let me know if this causes any problems.
