From: Roger Pack Date: 2010-01-10T02:02:01+09:00 Subject: [ruby-core:27509] Tcl +msys possible in 1.9.1, not in trunk? Currently with trying to compile the tcl extension with 1.9.1 I get cl/include/tcl7.6... yes checking for tk.h... yes checking for Tcl_FindExecutable() in -ltcl8.4... no checking for Tcl_FindExecutable() in -ltcl84... yes checking for Tk_Init() in -ltk8.4... no checking for Tk_Init() in -ltk84... yes [it is found] however with trunk I get Search tclConfig.sh and tkConfig.sh........................................................................... E:/installs/ruby191p376/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/reg-0.4.8/regdeferred.rb:53: warning: undefining `object_id' may cause serious problem extconf.rb,655: TkLib_Config["tclConfig_paths"]=[["C:/Tcl/lib/tclConfig-shared.sh", "C:/Tcl/lib/tkConfig-shared.sh"], ["C:/Tcl/lib/tclconfig-share ed.sh"], ["C:/Tcl/lib/tclConfig.sh", "C:/Tcl/lib/tkConfig.sh"], ["C:/Tcl/lib/tclconfig.sh", "C:/Tcl/lib/tkconfig.sh"], ["e:/installs/cygwin/lib/tc /lib/tkConfig.sh"], ["e:/installs/cygwin/lib/tclconfig.sh", "e:/installs/cygwin/lib/tkconfig.sh"]], dirs=["C:/Tcl/lib", "C:/Tcl/lib", "C:/Tcl/lib" win/lib", "e:/installs/cygwin/lib"] Valid tclConfig.sh and tkConfig.sh are found in ["C:/Tcl/lib", "e:/installs/cygwin/lib"] Use [tclConfig.sh,tkConfig.sh] == ['C:/Tcl/lib/tclConfig-shared.sh','C:/Tcl/lib/tkConfig-shared.sh'] Search Tcl library.checking for Tcl_FindExecutable() in -ltcl... no [it doesn't try the other options]. Is this expected? Does anybody know how to get it to build with ActiveTcl from trunk? (Even reading the readme I'm at a loss). [also as a note, I had to tweak the paths after creating the /Tcl/lib => /c/Tcl/lib or c:/Tcl/lib to get make to work appropriately. And a question: When I install tk "after the initial installation" (like a gem) when ruby exits it fails to exit. Sound familiar to anyone? Thanks. -r
