From: Roger Pack Date: 2009-09-30T00:47:37+09:00 Subject: [ruby-core:25847] .... 20 levels ... Many times in ruby we are presented with /home/rdp/dev/ruby2cext/lib/ruby2cext/common_node_comp.rb:1145:in `comp_hash': undefined method `ensure_node_type' for # (NoMethodError) from /home/rdp/dev/ruby2cext/lib/ruby2cext/common_node_comp.rb:198:in `build_c_arr' from test_files/test.rb:617:in `each_with_index' from /home/rdp/dev/ruby2cext/lib/ruby2cext/common_node_comp.rb:197:in `each' ... 20 levels... from ./../lib/ruby2cext/compiler.rb:55:in `compile_file' from test_all.rb:10 from test_all.rb:7:in `each' from test_all.rb:7 With little ability to change the swallowed levels. Would it be possible to optionally not swallow levels if $VERBOSE or $DEBUG has been specified, or to add a new command line parameter to not swallow? This is a common sense of frustration for new users of the language, and even though it has work arounds (ex: at_exit { puts $!.backtrace.join("\n") } ) They are not all that intuitive and it would be nice to have an easier way. Much thanks. -r
