I agree.  Git is not a magical potion that makes the patches roll in.

I use git for my OSS, but the fact that the core team uses SVN has in  
no way hindered my contributions to Ruby.  In fact, it doesn't even  
stop me from using git to contribute to Ruby.  If you look at my last  
few patches, you'll notice they are from the git mirror.

Switching scm's is something for the core team to decide.  We should  
stop talking about this bike shed and pay more attention to stuff that  
matters.
