Sorry but I seriously fail to see what exactly makes git specifically
tailored for the Linux kernel use case and community structure.
Although there is little doubt that it was created for the specific
purpouse of managing the Linux kernel codebase and it ships with
complimentary scripts that ease that particular workflow, there is
absolutely nothing that limits it to that. In fact, one of the upside
of git vs all other scms, distributed or not, is that its enormous
flexibility allows many different kinds of workflows and project
management strategies.
