PS If anyone in the UK wants to see this problem in action, go into your local pub and look for a Gamesnet cabinet with a game on it called 'World Cup Trivia'-- okay so you'll have to put in 50p to play and be fairly knowledgeable about football to get anywhere :-) but you can clearly see on *all* the animation that it jumps every 1-2s. That jump is Ruby's garbage collector.
