Before considering merging of REE into Ruby you should also take a
look at other platforms. Right now the memory allocation techniques
used by REE are not compatible with Windows (either VC or GCC
compilers).

So I think that before mergeing them REE should be able to run in the
broad selection of platforms Ruby currently runs, including, of
course, Windows.
