From: Matthew Bachmann Date: 2008-06-17T05:40:20+09:00 Subject: [ruby-core:17282] 'make install' installs files that reference other files that aren't installed There are a bunch of hardcoded paths that point at /usr/bin/ruby. The default install location is /usr/local/bin/ruby. Writing a standard spec file for turning a ruby tarball into an rpm doesn't work because the rpm requires /usr/bin/ruby, which isn't installed. It would be nice if the ./configure, make, make install resulted in an internally consistent install that didn't reference things it was missing. I'm not sure if this is the right place for gripes like that, but I figured I'd start somewhere and see where people directed me. -Matt
