btw: why does the following not work? What is the backslash good for if it enforces some kind of separation anyway?

p 1..5              # -> 1..5

p 1.\
.5                  # -> 
-:2: no .<digit> floating literal anymore; put 0 before dot
-:2: syntax error, unexpected '.'
