Yuck.

For what it is worth, I'll add my vote for unbundling rake as a gem and 
removing it from SVN.

Rake is not really a core library or utility that it should be added as 
part of ruby core.

Also, it has no compilable code in it, which makes it trivial to install 
or update with gem install.
