Michal didn't say the if/case/while would be inside a rescue, so I assumed it was just meant as a question about the general case. Yes, since if/case/while within a rescue are all contained within the same rescue code body, then I would expect retry would work perfectly well. Outside of 'for', none of the syntactic loops are block/iterator based. - Charlie
