I build it approx. two years ago for data analysis with the idea to see, what the the first bytes of a text can say about a possible Unicode encoding. If someone wants to use it now, the code with unfortunately german comments is in the german Ruby-Forum (http://forum.ruby-portal.de/viewtopic.php?t=1503). I will change it a little bit, comment it in English, and put it together with the UTF-8/16/32-Recognizers as a gem (never did it before) and a zip file. Then I try to put it as a new project "UTFtests" in RubyForge - ist this O.K.? One final question - because there should be a license, I used "lgpl". Is this O.K., or should I use another one?
