Not with an arg of 10 (tried that about 10 times), but it does sometimes 
hang with an arg of 50.

Linux 2.6.20 (Kubuntu)

Warning: You are shadowing the i variable in the inner block, and so all 
inner (popen3) blocks are using i in the same binding. Fixing this 
doesn't solve the problem though.
