Like you said, there are only so many hours in a day, and there are
lots of other things that need my attention. If I ever decide to pick
up the gauntlet and help developing a Ruby VM, that VM will most
likely be YARV because that will directly affect me (in my new job)
and JRuby won't. I hope that doesn't offend you. My pretend dislike of
Sun, Java, and everything related to it should do that already ;-) But
seriously, it is tempting, and I'm pretty sure I could learn a lot
from working on JRuby too, it's just not the right time.

I wouldn't expect that you are going to run away, it's just way too
exciting, isn't it?
