Issue #16953 has been updated by jeremyevans0 (Jeremy Evans). Status changed from Open to Feedback @MSP-Greg Can you figure out which commit caused this issue? I tried looking for commits before commit:631c01f5ae, but I was not able to find a likely culprit. ---------------------------------------- Bug #16953: Windows bash bin files removed in master https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/16953#change-94127 * Author: MSP-Greg (Greg L) * Status: Feedback * Priority: Normal * ruby -v: ruby 2.8.0dev (2020-06-11T15:55:31Z master 631c01f5ae) [x64-mingw32] * Backport: 2.5: UNKNOWN, 2.6: UNKNOWN, 2.7: UNKNOWN ---------------------------------------- Master is not creating bash bin files for Windows builds, only files with extensions cmd or bat. Although running Ruby from a bash shell in Windows is probably uncommon, some repo's CI can only be run from a bash shell. A good example is Bundler. With a correctly setup bash shell, it passes with Ruby 2.4 thru master. See https://github.com/MSP-Greg/rubygems/actions/runs/131762536 At present, I'm adding the files to ruby-loco's mingw & mswin builds (and also changing `#!/usr/bin/env ruby` to `#! ruby`), but having them installed natively would be helpful. -- https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/ Unsubscribe: <mailto:ruby-core-request@ruby-lang.org?subject=unsubscribe> <http://lists.ruby-lang.org/cgi-bin/mailman/options/ruby-core>
